Project Slate is a sound programming collective lead by Matthew Rubino. We truly love what we do and we always aim to enhance environments with a unique musical experience.
Our group weaves various genres and curates multiple styles in order to further develop the client’s vision and ensure all guests have an amazing and memorable experience.
The goal is to always elevate the atmosphere for everyone in attendance by spending time carefully creating a soundtrack for the overall aesthetic and character of the space…in short, let’s all have fun.
Over the past 12 years Matthew has been heavily involved in the Los Angeles DJ scene with long standing residencies at some of the most successful venues in the city such as The Standard Hotel and Hotel Erwin in Venice where he has been the Music Director since 2011.
Part of Matthew’s longevity and continued growth as a well-seasoned DJ is his ability to bring great vibes into any space for all types of audiences. With a strong DJ culture in Los Angeles, Matthew has been able to learn and perform alongside many great DJs. He has a talent for weaving various styles and genres together that enhance the environment and energy of the crowd. Whether it’s cocktails or an all night dance party, his diverse music selection can be tailored appropriately for any occasion.
He has performed for the likes of Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Debbie Harry (Blondie), Ann Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lindsay Lohan, Kesha, David Spade, Fergie, The Game, Terrell Owens, Troy Polamalu, Alexandra Von Furstenberg, Kathryn M. Ireland, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Don Bachardy, Bridget Marquardt and Ludo Lefebrve...
...and has shared the stage with Mobb Deep, Ice Cube, Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, Dam Funk, Nosaj Thing, Gaslamp Killer (to name a few)...!
